Into Light: Real People. Real Stories.
BOAPC and the North Berkshire HEAL Coalition bring the Into Light Project to the Berkshires this spring. Into Light is a nation-wide arts activism project that reduces stigma around the opioid epidemic and brings awareness to the reality of the lives lost due to overdose. This Berkshire installation includes ten new portraits of county residents we have tragically lost to overdose.
The display honors the losses our community continues to experience. While we are heartened by the decrease in fatal overdoses last year, Berkshire County continues to have the highest fatality rate in Massachusetts. Into Light highlights hope, the services available, and the role that community leaders, friends, families and providers share in supporting all those in our community affected by substance use.
