SUMMARY:Overdose Awareness Day Candlelight Vigil
DESCRIPTION:For International Overdose Awareness Day\, Living in Recovery will be hosting a vigil in remembrance of lost loved ones.  \nThe event will begin at 6:30 at the Pittsfield Common with an interfaith memorial service to have a space for grief. Leaders of different faiths will be involved to support those who have lost loved ones \nParticipants will then proceed to Park Square for a candlelight vigil\, where there will be 48 signs representing each person lost in Berkshire County in 2022. \nIf you have people or know of people who would like to include photos and/or names of loved ones\, send them to livinginrecoverypittsfield@gmail.com.

DESCRIPTION:International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose\, remember without stigma those who have died from overdose\, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.  \nThe IOAD 2023 theme “Recognizing those people who go unseen” is about acknowledging people in our communities who are affected by overdose but might go unseen in the crisis.  Community events will be held throughout Berkshire County on August 31.
